yes, we're 80 degrees warmer than you

Erin and Anne are hiding from our W states' winters with a week in South Florida. Camping in Everglades followed by snorkeling adventures in the Keys. Gator and other critter photos will post after we're home again.


From Ack - yea, but we have snow (and curling)....

My Valentine gave me good chocolate and fine champagne - does she know me or what! We also went curling (a good game and Anne got good skipping tips from Tim), watched as new drapes (we really like them) got installed and stayed and home and streamed Birdman (an interesting film.) Below, we celebrated Alana birthday by going to breakfast and eating off each others plate. In the evening we sipped champagne! Happy BD Alana!

This is the second delivery of Anne's Christmas gift to Ack - champagne deliveries. This month we have the André Robert Blanc de Blancs Reserve NV, Charles Ellner Grande Reserve Brut NV and Brocard Pierre Blanc de Noirs. We will let you know which was the best - Anne is out of town on a bonspiel and Ack will wait for her return before sampling.

The last weekend in January was the Monroe Mixed Bonspiel.  We won the first event with Richard and Deesa.  Rachel and Martin were our gracious hosts for the event - we stayed at their wonderful home. A snow storm on Sunday morning had us trapped in their countryside home, but one of the organizers got in their truck and picked us up so we could play in the finals. We were smart to accept the invitation to stay another night to avoid the blizzard. Wonderful dinner and games.
